Again we are on the road, this time a perfect interval of just one month, our last trip was on 25.11.07, and now on the morning of 25.12.07 we make our way to Bishnupur, Bankura. But this time we are alone, no friends, no road rollers, nothing, only Me, Ria and my slow runner P150 and the 156km long stretch road. Though everyone was invited to join us, but all of came to be busy even on the morning of the 25th Dec. Our last hope was Akash, but alas he also make us sorry due to his some family prob, And we are really sorry for Akash and the rest of the team. We are sorry that we cannot make a trip together, but could not resist our eager to explore the road.
As usual we started at 6 am and via Bally Bridge we took the NH2, go straight on NH2 till Singur, from Singur we took the left to SH2 which leads to Tarekeswar and Arambagh. Its about 26 km from Singur to Tarekeswar and again about 28 km from Tarekeswar to Arambagh. In this second stretch the road is mostly broken, though some times we fill that its much better then the road we cross at Jharkhand. From Arambagh it’s about 57 km to Bishnupur via Kotulpur, Rajpur and Jaipur. Yes it’s the road the local’s call it “Bypass”. Though it’s not like the bypass we are used to, but somehow it’s much better and smooth then the previous one. Here I try to release my all slow thirteen horses, and they took around one hour to complete the stretch. We came to cross the Jaipur, which is also known as Jaipur reserve forest. The total 8km stretch was full of greens and timbers. Only face you come to see is the local tribal women who come here to collect the lakri. We reached Bishnupur at 10.50 AM.
As you all know that Bishnupur is famous for its past and Terracotta. Many Maharajas’ make their elegance presence by establishing lots of temples and sculptures, namely the most known The Jorbanglow. I will stop here, and I am not a historian. All you come to know about Bishnupur when you see my album.
We started from Bishnupur at 2:30PM via the same route. Though there are another two roots, one via Bardhaman & Durgapur, another is via Khargapur. But we found that this is the shortest one. It’s about 5:15 and we are at gain in our hometown, Kolkata. But the memories of Bishnupur still sharp in our mind, the bad road can’t let it clean so fast. My 150 shows an awesome ability to handle that bad road and still he is ready to visit our next destination without any service, may be Ajyodha Pahar. Let’s see………….
