:: RIDE TO BANGRIPOSI, CHANDIPUR ::

I was getting board from my daily hectic schedule, attending office,

talked to the clients and had to stop all short of expenses due to heavy cost curtailment by the management. I was searching for a fresh air, and suddenly the opportunity came into my way. This year Swarswati Puja gives me a good two day long weekend including Saturday & Sunday. I chalked out a plan to visit my favorite state Orissa again, and spot was my favorite Bangriposi, this time my plan was to halt at Bangriposi and cover the surroundings by next day. So, booked a room at Bangriposi Panthanibas. After getting reservation from OTDC, I started call some of my old friend, but it seems no one was ready to spoil there weekend & Swarswati Puja. Finally I got a call from one of a fellow, Swarnadeep aka Pappu, who meet me in TVS Service center once, and he shows his interest to make the trip done, as per his last call at around 1:30 AM he confirm me that he will going to join me with his friend Sayan on or about 8:30 AM.

Bangriposi: I can remember the day of my first long trip on bike to that very place with two of my old friends from ROADROLLERS. That day we didn’t had enough time to halt and explore the surroundings, so we returned on the same day. So, when it comes to make a plan for a trip, I always consider this place as my favorite one. Bangriposi is around 230 KM from Kolkata and in the ghat section of Simlipal & Nilagiri range. The scenic beauty is enough to make you speech less & just to listen the sound of some unknown birds, low hiss of wind and you may feel that you are out of this world, don’t try to long you may addicted soon.
Saturday, 31.01.09: We reached Kolaghat around 10:00 AM, took some light breakfast, and started again around 10:30 AM and soon reached Panskura, where Pappu, need to refill his bike and to treat his eyes, which was just pricked by a bee. From Kharagpur we continue on NH6 and reached Bahergora via Lodhasuli. We took our lunch at Chinchria check post on our way to Bahergora with egg bhujia, Tarka, roti, here we took some rest and came to road within next fifteen minutes. Reached Bangriposi about 3:30 PM and took the double room at Panthanibas which was pre-booked form Kolkata.
After getting fresh we started our ride to explore the surroundings and of course the ghat section, which was the most desirable part of the whole trip. We need to check our riding skills once in the ghat section, as my two fellow riders are new in this kind of road, though I had a small experience when we visit here last time. We ride towards Bisai for about 8KM and the horror movie started, the road was its possible worst condition and huge trucks are so lazy to give a way to us. So we stopped for a small photo session and ride back to the fairer part of the road, where we wait until the light gone. Now this is the time to enjoy the darker part of the road & the ghat section.
We came back to the hotel around 7:30 PM after having a cup of tea from the local tea stall. There was no arrangement for dinner in the Panthanibas; one had to visit the nearest dhaba which is just one km form Panthanibas, where you will get everything you want to eat, after having the dinner we came back to our room at around 10:30 PM. Was tired, so didn’t miss a moment and go to sleep.

Sunday, 01.02.09: Last night could not sleep well due to heavy concert of snoozing curtsy Sayan and Pappu used to play football in bed, got some good kicks from his end, wake up in a brand new day with lots of pain all over the body, so need to trim my body, did some free hand along with a good bike wash make my body feel well enough to struggle for the day ahead.

Start our journey around 8:30 and as per the locals there is a shortcut route to Baripoda through village roads. After riding about 14KM through village roads we came to the junction of NH5 and continue straight 25 KM to Baripoda. Lulung is about 24 KM from Baripoda, we had to cancel our trip to Lulung due to bad stretch of roads, and our next stop was Balasore which is 58 KM away. I must say some wards about this 58KM long stretch here; the butter smooth road gave us a scope to ride at 80-90KMPH easily. This may be the best route I have ever covered in my entire riding life, with lots of green, rail track beside the road is just awesome for a rider and it turns out to be the best photographic location for us. We often stop for pictures, rush to nearby villages, long wood forests, ponds every where to capture the best of it. Pappu gave us a awesome suicidal pose with rail tracks, the good road ends at Balasore around 12:00 PM.

Right now I am standing at the same place where I was been one year ago with my wife Ria, in our trip to Chandipur. Chandipur is 24 km from here and after sheering my thoughts with my fellow riders they became interested to visit Chandipur. We reach Chandipur, shoot some picture at beach and start from Chandipur around 3:30 PM, reached via NH60 to Kharagpur. In our way back we took some halt at Panskura, Kolaghat and have a cup of tea at our beloved dhaba at Azad Hind at Uluberia. Reached home at 10:30 and released my mom & Ria from the anxiety they were facing from last two days. They case was different for my two fellow riders, I will tell you that some other day.

Kaushik da, we have 90-100 more snaps. So together we have 209+100=309.

We travelled all together 650 Kms(appx).

So the Eq is 650/309.
The outcome is 2.1 (appx).

So our clicking frequency were after every 2 Km........m i rite ????

Couple of questions:

Was there any money taken by RTO people at NH60 border on your way back from Orissa ?

How long were you stuck at Kolaghat ?
