Well it was all on a sudden trip. As usual on saturday afternoon i had lunch and went for a long ride at approx 3:30 pm , was riding towards durgapur barrage thinking of spending some time on barrage and then comming back home, but suddenly a plan struck in my mind why not ride to Mukutmanipur and spend some time in there ?
And it happened I was now riding towards the sudden destination now by chance i got the
There is a short foot bridge over it. One can try to cross over it, a wonderful experience. Enjoy the beauty and cool breeze in the beach, anways it was very hot weather in the month of april but was having high enthu of riding so the scorching heat couldn’t let my energy come down , and my falcon (my rtr efi) was just doing great she seemed super happy with the sudden decision of visiting Mukutmanipur.About Mukutmanipur it is situated on the confluence of the rivers Kumari and Kangshabati at the Bengal-Bihar border. It’s a little-known fact that Asia’s biggest earthen dam is in Mukutmanipur, constructed in the early 1970s. The tourist destination grew around the dam.
The 86-sq-m lake provides an irresistible temptation to take a boat ride. One side of the lake is rocky and draws the border between Bengal and Bihar, while the other is dotted with green patches, part of the Bangopalpur reserve forest.
The 11-km-long and 38-m-high dam has a solid concrete road with wide pavements. A stroll alongit helps to relax and also allows you to enjoy the beauty of the lake and the small rocky hills dotting the landscape. Sunrise and sunset in particular are magical moments.
The open-air temple is also located on the dam. The rocky surface on which it stands is known as Parshwanath Tila. There’s a shiva linga, a statue of the Jain God Parshwanath Swami and a statue of a bull at the location, which were excavated during the construction of the dam. Two stone statues of Vishnu were also found at the same site time and are exhibited on the Tila. The place is considered sacred for both Hindus and Jains. Anyways Was riding hard enough always doing 90-100kmph so that i can reach the destination before its dark ,
Most interesting thing i didnt have any preparation for night stay , no special toolkit to even support any breakdown , sometime this thought was kinda pulling me back from doing the trip that if there is any bike breakdown what will happen since I was all alone, but i never released the throttle and maintained steady speed, now it was starting to get accomplished i crossed Bankura, then Khatra , now i saw a filling station was bit thirsty so was my bike , decided to give her a ankfull of fress fuel and same for me , just in case of me it was "Filling Station's Cold Water" and For my Falcon it was "Speed Petrol" just a few minute of break in there and then again started to ride on towards MukutManipur , now the scenic beauty was starting to get nicer and nicer more greens and also the scorching heat was reduced as it was 6pm was feeling kinda pleasant , i was maintaining speed of 55-60kmph now and reached Mukutmanipur at 7 pm, firstly went ahead and looked for a accomodation for me and for my Falcon .
It was a trip for her mainly , just wanted to feel her nicely from the time i got her few months back , like it was a nice and steady trip for her for the very first time in her life . After getting myself freshen up I went ahead to the dam and spent whole evening in there , the cool breeze was taking away all my fatigue and was feeling very fresh , came back to hotel and rested for the night next day early morning went ahead to the dam again and clicked some snaps , the atmosphere was really nice and cool , waiting few in the dam I started riding back to my home , this trip was not at all planned one but it gave me a nice break from daily routine of If Then Else and While loops .
