TVS LUNCHES FLAME 125

Madras Based TVS Motorcycle Company recently lunched the new Flame 125 to bit the New Yamaha Gladiator, XCD & HH Glamour. Yesterday I got a call from the Chopada TVS, and came to know about their new bike. I took a short look through of the new bike, and believe me, TVS has really invest some good designer in their new project.
TVS was supposed to release the bike with a duel spark technology under the tech name CCVTi, but due to some problem with the patent system with Bajaj auto, who use the same technology namely DTSi, TVS stop production of the CCVTi engine. The new engine comes with a single spark plug and a 3 valve system. The new engine produces 10.5 bhp of raw yet smooth power in 7500 rpm with a standard torque of 10 nm at 600 rpm. The near square engine produces a healthy torque flow from the 3000 rpm onwards. The three valve system incorporates with a single over head cam. The gear box borrowed from the Star City and comes with a one down three up manner. Flam comes with a pair of mag wheel in both ends shoed with TVS Srichakra. The front and rear both brakes are 130 mm drum and there is a option to opt for a 260 mm disk brake at front.

The colour quality of the Flame is superb and the stickers make it really eye candy. And this is the first in India where a bike comes with a carbon fiber type sticker near the side panels, really a nice touch of art. The fuel tank is small and only can hold 7.5 liter of petrol in it, but another nice touch, the first bike in India with a small cubic hole just in front of the petrol tank and nicely merged with a plastic cover. You can easily put your sunglass; purse & the mobile phone during a rainy ride, and its also safe, the same ignition key operate the locking system of the chamber.

Price wise the Flame is not much cheaper then the other bike in the category, though at Rs.50,650 it’s a good deal.
Watch this place for a full road test with all other figures, like fuel consumption and the speeds.
